About Us

Arttao.net is a learning and practice-oriented website continuously developed around “contemporary geometric abstract art creation.” We aim to reorganize knowledge scattered across art history, composition theory, color theory, materials and techniques, digital technology, and contemporary creative experience into a clearer, more systematic platform structure suitable for long-term learning and repeated use. This is not merely a page for showcasing artwork, nor is it just a collection of scattered tutorial information. Instead, it is a practical space that gradually connects cognition, training, analysis, experimentation, and creation.
The core direction we are focusing on is why geometric abstract art remains important today. Geometric abstraction is not just a superficial form composed of straight lines, circles, squares, grids, or color blocks; it is more importantly a way of thinking about order, proportion, rhythm, structure, space, and relationships. It can be incorporated into painting, as well as design, installations, animation, architectural skins, digital imagery, interactive systems, and cross-media experiments. Because of this, we hope that through Arttao.net, more learners can move from “seeing form” to “understanding structure,” and then from “understanding structure” to “being able to truly apply it.”
Arttao.net's content construction emphasizes systematicity and executability. The website does not aim to simply introduce artists, genres, and artworks; instead, it strives to break down complex art language into modules that can be learned, observed, operated, and trained. We are progressively organizing course content into multiple directions, including the cognitive structure of geometric abstract art, symbolic analysis of basic geometric forms, the application of color in geometric abstract art, material and craft pathways, typical structural modules, and future evolutionary trends. Each direction is not isolated but interconnected, collectively forming a continuous path from foundational understanding to in-depth creation.

On this website, we particularly emphasize “structured learning.” Many people who encounter geometric abstract art tend to stop at superficial visual preferences, for example, finding a certain color scheme beautiful, a certain composition impactful, or an artist's work very modern. However, they often struggle to explain precisely: why does this effect occur? What are the underlying proportional relationships? How does color drive structure? Why do forms like repetition, displacement, nesting, layering, open boundaries, and central aggregation create different psychological feelings? Arttao.net's goal is to help learners move step by step through these stages of “appearing to understand, but not quite understanding,” gradually transforming vague intuition into clear judgment and creative ability.
In addition to course content, Arttao.net is continuously developing a series of supplementary learning tools and experimental modules. We believe that today's art education should not rely solely on reading and viewing, but should incorporate analysis, deduction, simulation, and interaction. In this regard, we pay special attention to the role of artificial intelligence and digital tools in art learning. We do not see AI as a replacement for creators, nor do we view it as a simple “automatic generator.” In our view, AI's more valuable identity is that of an analyzer, amplifier, comparator, and co-creator. It can help learners observe structural differences more quickly, understand color relationships more clearly, break down the logic of artworks more effectively, and assist in composition experiments, scenario deductions, and path comparisons.
Therefore, many of the features developed by Arttao.net revolve around the goal of “helping people think more clearly.” Whether it's artwork deconstruction, color relationship training, structural simulation, symbol analysis, material feasibility deduction, or systematic creation experiments, the core is not to pursue the dazzling nature of technology itself, but to enable learners to gradually form more stable aesthetic judgments, clearer formal awareness, and more solid creative methods through practice. We hope that technology can serve artistic understanding, rather than letting people be led by tools; we hope that the system can assist creation, rather than simplifying creation into template replication.

Arttao.net is also an open platform for learners of all levels. For beginners, it offers an introductory path covering basic concepts, fundamental structures, artwork observation, and simple creative exercises. For learners with some experience, it provides in-depth structural analysis, color logic breakdown, modular training, and cross-media thinking. For those who wish to develop their personal creative language in the long term, it offers more systematic support, allowing learning to move beyond the realm of inspiration and gradually enter the stages of methodology, judgment, and long-term accumulation. Whether you come from art, design, architecture, education, digital media, or are simply interested in geometric abstraction, we hope this can be a place for continuous exploration and inspiration.
We also value the long-term constructive value of website content. Arttao.net is not a one-off project, but a knowledge and creation platform that is continuously expanding, refining, and deepening. As courses, tools, case studies, and experimental modules are gradually added, the website will increasingly resemble a truly usable “Practical Handbook for Contemporary Geometric Abstract Art Creation.” It can serve as both a learning path and a creative reference; it can help understand classic works and also facilitate new experiments for the future. We believe that a truly vibrant platform is not one with more content, but one where the relationships between content are clearer and learners can forge their own paths.

Arttao.net was established with a simple yet profound desire: to transform geometric abstract art from a niche professional discussion into a more open, clear, and practically valuable form of creative knowledge. We aim to make abstraction understandable, complexity accessible, structure trainable, and creation more directed. In the future, we will continue to enhance our website's content by focusing on course systems, analytical tools, AI-assisted learning, cross-media experimentation, and creative support. Our goal is for Arttao.net to be more than just a website; it will be a practical platform that accompanies learners on their long-term growth journey, continuously expanding their artistic understanding and creative capabilities.

Graduated from Luxun Academy of Fine Arts in 1992 with a Master's degree.
1992–2000: Taught at the Oil Painting Department of the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts.
In 1994, he won first prize at the “First Oil Painting Still Life Exhibition” sponsored by the Chinese Artists Association. His “Chinese-style still life paintings” had a wide-ranging impact on the field of Chinese still life oil painting.
Moved to the United States in 2001. Influenced by both Chinese and Western cultures, my perspective has become more international. My artistic style and painting concepts have also undergone significant changes. Currently, I am dedicated to creating contemporary geometric abstract art and have authored the book "A Manual for Creating Contemporary Geometric Abstract Art."
From 1992 to 1999, his works were offered at over 40 auctions by renowned domestic and international auction houses such as Sotheby's, Christie's, China Guardian, Poly Auction China, Hanhai Sotheby's, Rongbaozhai, and Shanghai Duoyunxuan, maintaining a strong record in terms of transaction rates.
Works have been collected by the Pao family of Hong Kong, the Governor of Macau, PricewaterhouseCoopers, the Chairman of the Super Bowl Board of Directors, the Tennessee State Museum, and the New Mexico State Government for permanent collection. The artist has participated in art fairs such as Art Miami and Art Chicago. Nearly a hundred works have been published in major art magazines in the United States, and the artist has been interviewed by influential domestic and international media outlets, including China Central Television.
He has published several monographs, including "Illustrations of Still Life in Oil Painting", "Chinese Contemporary Powerful School", and "Selected Still Life in Oil Painting". From 2023 to 2026, he began researching the application of artificial intelligence in art creation and teaching. From 2024 to 2026, he created the AI art websites arttao.org and arttao.net.
